During the first few weeks of the pandemic, most of us doubled-down and “went to work.”  Adrenaline was our friend. We gave our best on the job and also sought to keep our families safe, our kids learning and pantries full. As the weeks have turned into months and the numbers of infected and sick have remained high, many healthcare professionals report feeling exhausted. At the same, not everyone has had the same experiences. Some, who serve patients less affected by COVID-19, may have felt underused, their clinics and units empty, or even been furloughed.

In May, all of us were affected, in deeply personal ways, by the senseless deaths that have sparked national and international protests calling for racial justice. Every colleague has their own specialty and comes from a different family situation or “social pod,” and cultural background.

Have we described your past few months?  Come and join us for a very special webinar and be encouraged by the stories of your peers. Here is what we will be discussing and learning together:

Objectives and Take-Aways

  • Understanding your high and lows during this season and those of your colleagues
  • A discussion of the stages of coping in a time of prolonged crises
  • Monitoring compassion fatigue and professional burnout
  • Toward a workable self-care plan—assessing the warning signs while embracing life in uncertain times
  • Utilize the four “P’s” to lower your stress
  • Quick, daily tools to add to your arsenal of coping strategies

Are there any universal strategies that can assist us who specifically work in medical field during such turbulent and uncertain seasons? Do healthcare workers go through identifiable stages?  How does one stay focused with either too much or too little work? Does it help to talk about our experiences, or does it make it worse?

Come and learn techniques and strategies to staying emotionally healthy and avoiding burnout based on Dr. Dyment’s work with more than 110 groups since the pandemic began.  Join us, connect with great health care colleagues and be inspired!
